On Wednesday May 9th, Christian Friedrich made his major league debut for the Colorado Rockies. Born in Evanston, IL, Christian played for the Skokie Indians Little League organization and participated in the NSYBA during his pony years. He would go on to play High School ball at Loyala Academy and later to Eastern Kentucky University where he was an All-American baseball player.
As the starting pitcher, Friedrich tossed six innings, giving up 5 hits, 1 walk, and 1 earned run. He struck out 7 batters on his way to his first big league victory. Congratulations Christian!
